John Lennon Headline 1980
"Profit Motive Lives". Get over yourselves, like newspapers have no motive for profit:
This Commentary riled me at the time. Bob Brumfield was the local crank, kinda like Bronson is today:

I had forgotten the Bob Brumfield column. You're right. It was stupid and clumsy in the same way that Pete Bronson's columns are stupid and clumsy. Too bad Cincinnati never had a real newspaper.
Brumfield is a turd.
Wow, what a douche.
You know, it's so easy to lose time perspective. I don't know why I never knew that Lennon died in 1980. That bothers me that I didn't know that. I was all of 9 years old and in the fourth grade yet I always assumed it happened before I was born.
Why is that? Ignorance on my part? Yet I have a pretty clear memory of other events in that era, yet I don't even remember hearing about it at the time or it being more than a blip on the radar screen of my life at the time. I know 9 seems young to register such a thing but why should I remember so much else and not this?
Oh, and that one man's article - whatever happened to that guy - what a horrid, horrid man. So typical of conservative Cincinnati though - to be so very out of step with reality, sympathy or even a sense of appropriateness. I bet he pissed off a lot of people but I bet even more just shrugged.
