That's a pretty nice mural. Haven't see a lot of new murals in the city.

Actually, since last summer Artworks has done a bunch of murals all over Cincinnati. You can see them here, along with info on this summer's mural sites. There are two more Artworks murals within a couple of blocks of this one.

There will also be a new mural on the Southern side of the Know Theatre. This one is not affiliated with the MuralWorks program, but should be another great addition.

The artists plan on doing the mural on the Know Theatre during the Fringe Festival at the end of this month. They'll sort of be part of the festivities going on. Should be pretty cool.

Thanks for the Artworks mural links. I'll keep my eye out for them.

This is a beautiful painting. Do you know if it an original? It looks sort of like Robert Duncanson, who did the murals in the Taft Museum when it was Nicholas Longworth's private home. He's a pretty neat story--a talented African American artist who turned from a successful career in portraiture to landscape painting in the Hudson River style with local Cincinnati artists William Sonntag and Worthington Whittredge in the mid-1800s. Nicholas Longworth commissioned to create wall murals in his home, which really established his career. He has a painting in the Art Museum, "Blue Hole on the Little Miami," that this mural resembles.
