The location is pretty good, and if it could carry some of the dry goods and paper products we all need, it would save on car trips to a large grocery, thats for sure.
what type of hurdles? i was thinking that the furniture store that just went out of business just west of that space would be a good place for a dry goods grocery.

Avril's has good stuff. I like their rare roast beef. But their "loaded" potato salad is over the top. Too rich & heavy. Get the regular kind.
I walked in there one time with a U of Michigan shirt. Bad idea.
I can't wait! Avril's is great, and everything I've tried from there has been great. Plus, the guys all greet me by name now. :)
Don't celebrate yet though, it is just in the preliminary stages and has a few hurdles.

Westender - The grandfather (I think) went to ND. They don't take too kindly to U of M!

I think a mix of practical and code issues because they are two separate buildings with two owners.
