Retro Play Equipment

Seen at a park in District of Columbia last week. Simple, yet kids seemed attracted to it:

Yes, remove all danger. Kids should be raised in rubber rooms.

Yes indeed. Rubber rooms WITHOUT head-sized peeping holes.

FWIW, I think they have that same thing in the 'little kid' portion of the reconstructed playground at Kilgour ES. So maybe you'll start seeing them around here as well.

Random playground 'safety' question: do kids ever get impaled when they fall by those woodchip things that playgrounds use now?

^never seen that, but I did see a kid cut and bleeding from wires left from a shredded tire surface.
