Actually, a complete guess, but Barack seems to know what he wants and moves swiftly to get it: UPDATE: There's a push on this:
UPDATE 2: He kinda reminds me of Denny Crane:

Obama/Webb 08
I don't know if he is my first choice, but he seems to fit the campaign. He is older, but new to the Senate. He worked under Reagan, who's positivity and wide tent Obama seeks to replicate. He is a decorated Navy Marine, and seems like a bulldog.
Only the governor of Montana would be more interesting than Webb. Anyone curious about him should read his novels (not bad) and/or The Nightingale's Song.
I live in VA. and I can tell you, Jim Webb is a iron itellecutal, and with his military background and working class roots - he would bring much needed balance to Obama. Webb doesn't have the "flash" that some may have, but his resume is rock solid.
I too am hoping for a Obama/Webb ticket...
