Should Infants Swim?

This article in the SF Chronicle notes that some Pediatricians advise against toddler swim classes because they give a false sense of security to parents and may lead to more drownings. They say children are not developmentally able to swim until they are 4 years old.

I do know this, that summers are much much more enjoyable, once the kids can swim. The toddler/wading pool is a drag. I agree with the pediatricians that 4yrs is a good age to start them swimming.

No.

I've read about those water babies classes but I don't think they're a good idea
