Did You Feel the Earthquake?

My wife was awakened by the quake this morning. I slept right through. I guess brick buildings shake too..

I was wondering if you felt the earthquake or not. I had a small sense the earth was shaking early this morning up here but dismissed the idea as a dream. The local media is reporting we did indeed feel the tremors here.

Yes! The building definitely swayed, but the thing that really startled me was the rattling of the windows. The cat didn't freak out, though, which was surprising.

My mom felt it. Everyone else in my family slept through. I missed the earthquake in the 70's (80's) because I was visiting my grandmother and I slept through this one. I think nothing short of crater opening directly over my bed could wake me up.

Felt it and heard it (the timbers shivered) and recognized the phenomenon, having been here for the '80 quake in Sharpsburg, Kentucky. That one, which was much closer, brought down chimneys. Whether you felt it in the Over The Rhine had to do with which way your house was oriented.

My dog barked and jumped off the bed; that woke me up in time to hear the rumble. He must have barked before the quake started, though, since it only lasted 10 seconds according to news. I was here in 78 when the previous one happened. My husband in his office saw things falling off the shelves! I thought it was either an earthquake or a building blowing up like the BASF plant did!
