GPS Locator Writsband for Children

See here for the story. I guess I would be tempted to try something like this when the kids first start going places on their own.

Peace of mind AND being a parent?? Howzabout the cratering economy version--get off the phone, stop with the texting, turn off TV, and watch your kids. Sorry, but they're not little for very long.

You guys are looking at this all wrong. I think this is awesome! Being a parent of a nonverbal child with spcial needs and ALWAYS being concerned that he will wonder off, especially in the middle of the night. This device is truely long awaited. Up to this point, I have not seen anything like this that was so reasonably priced. Many people in the special needs world will be thrilled with this technology. Thanks for the post about it! But I have to say that this might be a good idea for my Tween daughter who is getting ready to start venturing out with her friend soon. Maybe we could get a deal if we are ordering two!

Probably also a godsend to families of Alzheimer's patients.

I'm with you Archer, I have been wondering why we haven't seen something like this yet. There is a time and place for these devices. Depending on the child, the age and the environs, I could see lots of situations when this would be a good idea.
