First Cow-share Milk

Gifts from wife to husband this year included a share in a cow (a gallon every other week). It is great to know where your food comes from, and tastes great too.

UPDATE: Valeree, has a link to a decent story on herd shares.

That's pretty cool. I'm guessing they deliver it right to your home?

It's a farmer at Findlay Market, so you pickup there on Saturdays.

So i've heard about cow shares, but have never had any connections, or found any info about their cost. Would you mind sharing how much the cow-share costs, how much milk you get per share?

You buy the bottles, and buy as many shares of cow as you want. The result can be straight milk or yogurt or cheese. If taken as straight milk I think it breaks down to about $5.75 a gallon. I'm not 100% sure about the details because it was a gift.
