In 2006, Nextbus was awarded a contract of almost $10 million dollars to install GPS realtime monitoring of buses and streetcars. The new system went beta active today.

Unknown said...: I think the biggest perception problem with transit is the uncertainty. With rail, we know where the damn thing is going instead of taking the leap of faith with a bus. Same thing with real-time arrival. Here in Columbus, the campus bus stops have them but the city bus stops don't.; 17/3/09 7:12 PM

Randy Simes said...: I've been told that it is a funding issue. Metro wants to do it, they just don't have the resources at this time...stay tuned though as new details may be developing on this front.; 19/3/09 9:14 AM
