Maha Rushie The Man Whos Always Right

(Obama) is going to win, isn't he?
'No. I don't see it, Nigel. I think he's been dead in the water since the primaries. He is going to need to be up 10 to 12 points to win by three or four....-Rush Limbaugh last week in an interview with Nigel Farndale of the UK Independent

And from the Onion:
Citizens with eyes, ears, and the ability to wake up and realize what truly matters in the end are also believed to have played a crucial role in Tuesday's election.

Maha Rushie did sort of get it right. Obama was up by 9% to 14% in the polls, and wound up winning the popular vote by 6% so far. We'll know how many points Rush missed it by when we get final tallies from VA & MO.

Throughout most of the race Obama was ahead of McCain by single digit margins. The huge pull-ahead came mostly in the final days, well after Rush was interviewed.

I'm not wild about the outcome, but now Obama's my president too, and I wish him the best.

FiveThirtyEight.com had McCain with a 5% chance of winning over a month ago. Anyone who thought McCain had a sliver of a chance after he "suspended" his campaign should not be a pundit.
