Obviously the nation will never consist of only one large city. But this is a really good point -- if we developed our major cities to be high and medium density, everyone would be within a short distance of parks, natural forests, farms, and open space. Instead, we have miles and miles of sprawl outside our major cities which increase pollution, and destroy our greenspace and farmland.
