My dad picked this can opener up at a flea market. The address 1250 Elm Street, would place it directly across from Music Hall, where Washington Park Elementary now sits. I have no idea if Hansy's Place was a beer hall or car repair shop.
They have the directories at the Central Library too. They should digitize those old directories and put them online. I can't be expected to walk 4 blocks and page through some old paper books!
If this posts, sorry! Just checking -- I was trying to comment on your A. A. Milne entry but it wouldn't take. I wanted to test this out and see if it would accept a comment on the newest entry.
And, somewhat embarrassingly, it worked! Here's my comment I referenced re: the kids' poetry book: Shel Silverstein is a kids' favorite. All humans start out loving poetry -- it's the rhythm more than anything else. Repetition, pattern, song, rhyming if there's rhyming. Poetry only gets ruined for [most of] us during school age years, sad to say. (Now aren't you glad for that little lesson?!)

Very neat! We should be able to find an answer in the old City Directories at say the Cincinnati Historical Library at Museum Center.
