Taqueria Mercado Open on 8th
Friday, Taqueria Mercado opened at the old Javier's location at 800 Walnut Street. I met the owner, Lordes, and she said that she will be open 7 days a week, days and evenings. I know her food from her other restaurant (by Jungle Jims in Fairfield) and I highly recommend eating here:

The family ate there Saturday afternoon after the daughter & I finished the 5k. It was really tasty & very reasonable! Lots of options & ways to make what you want. :) Much better than the mystery hours Javier's kept - but very different food & experience.
Hey, my nine-year old son did the 5K too! It was a great time.
Somehow I was the only person in Cincinnati not to eat at Taqueria Mercaso friday, how the heck did that happen?
Great seeing you Firday night.
Ate there for lunch and dinner. Highly recommend. Great prices for great food. 2 soft tacos stuffed me for lunch. The tortillas chips were greasy and hot - yum!
I wish they would get rid of that awkward window pass through to the kitchen. The bar should have been built there instead of on the eastern wall. It would be great if the would get some booths instead of having all tables.
Wow, open seven days a week! Such craziness.
Ate there for lunch last Thursday. The assembly line windown is confusing. Also...there was a large line of people at the cash register (waiting to pay their bill), but many were confused that it was a Javier's-style setup...and those people were placing orders. The fact that there was no one there to greet you and seat you the whole time we were there only added to everyone's confusion. I'm sure they will work all that out if they haven't already.
I'm excited about Mexican breakfasts on the weekend. Sounds like a great place to get huevos and chorizo on a Saturday morning.

Never had Mexican breakfast before. Don't know whether my stomach could handle it or not. But, I'm plain curious. Gotta give it a try. Not in Cincinati of course :)
Sounds like the place to be on Cinco de Mayo
That's where I'm going to be!
