Fueling Your Freedom

I think it is worth looking closer at this advertisement on a gas pump. The weather beaten boards imply a western motif. And the west implies lawlessness, and open country. The handwriting of the words "fueling your" seems like it is the quill writing of Thomas Jefferson. The word FREEDOM is written as if it is a monument, the powerful eagle and the patriotic star... like it is your patriotic duty to buy from the Marathon Corporation or that somehow burning oil equals freedom. It's sick really.

What is your gas station? It's pretty slim pickin's around there.

...fueling your freedom to drive anywhere you want to? ... regardless of how it effects anyone or anything... it's "MY" freedom, I can do whatever I want, it's a me, me, me self centered land.

Fueling our dependency on fossil fuels. NO ONE IS TRYING TO MAKE YOU NOT GO SOMEWHERE. " regardless of how it effects anyone or anything... it's "MY" freedom" it'll effect you when we are paying an astronomical amount per gallon. Not to mention the wars and soldiers that have died for your "freedom". And by freedom I mean who have died for your gas. Why not get off fossil fuels. We would have more freedom from dependency on oil rich countries.

And PS here is where the oil comes from. Yes, the United States is listed on their site, right along with Libya, Equatorial Guinea, the North Sea, Angola, Indonesia and Poland.
