Kids Losing Touch with Nature

Article in the UK Independent:

Half of youngsters aged nine to 11 were unable to identify a daddy-long-legs, oak tree, blue tit or bluebell, in the poll by BBC Wildlife Magazine. The study also found that playing in the countryside was children's least popular way of spending their spare time, and that they would rather see friends or play on their computer than go for a walk or play outdoors.

But what is a blue tit anyway?

Prayer for a City

PRAYER FOR A CITY
O Lord, we pray Thee for this, the city of our love and pride,
Help us to make our city the mighty common workshop of our people,
where everyone will find his place and task, in daily achievement
building up his own life to resolute manhood, keen to do his best with hand and mind.
Bind our citizens, not by the bond of money or of profit alone,

Juvenile Car Crash

Crunch. A fifteen year old hot wired this Buick in KY and crashed it into my parked junker Honda. They ran away, but the cops caught them.

 

Bummer but it could have been much worse.
