On a more positive note, I found this postcard from Budapest of Móricz Zsigmond Circus in the same store as the Indianapolis postcards.
I scanned this one because it exhibited some good urbanism: Contiguous five-story buildings, shaping a positive outdoor public space, and lots of public transport: At the time of this photo, Hungary was under Soviet control for a decade, but most of what is seen in this photo pre-dated WWII.
